Aseptic packaging meets the companies’ need for improving the shelf-life of food and drink, but it’s also one of the two major contributors to the growth of solid municipal waste. The disposable aseptic package waste against the principle of sustainable development, generating astonishing aluminum waste every year up to 380-420,000 tons goes into landfill. Mrs. Gloria Niño López developed a multi-layer package separating technology from her notice that sour milk dissolved the aluminum layer of the disk. Even though the conclusion proved by a lot of countries and the mayor of Curitiba, Casio Taniguchi establish a social enterprise collecting aseptic packaging and separating it into the three major components (paper, PE, and Al), the suppliers still aren’t willing to act positively. This business model creates new jobs, profits from wastes, and a new platform for enterprises to connect to build up a network, joining efforts to make the best use of the package wastes. We can’t just keep wasting and relying on biodegradable materials, learning to recycle, reuse and regenerate is more important.
